Before. Well, before it is done
Here are some pictures of our dining room/future office. We decided to copy Mark and Sara because we liked their Ikea built in desks so much. Mark helped. But what should I do with the light? It is too low right now and John always hits his head on it (when there isn't furniture obstructing the way.) Diane said it would look cool if we painted it a different color. I think she recommended black. Do you have any advice? Do you hate it or love it? There is no in between after all.
Stay tuned for the next few steps. sadly, the fantastic window coverings with tassles had already been taken down when we took this photo. Luckily they are still in the front room so I might be able to capture a picture before I have to burn them.
Or if you like them maybe you could win them in a bloggy giveaway. They are green silk drapes after all, and they could fit over a very large window. Much larger than the ones in our front room, as a matter of fact.
oooooooh it is about time. You're office is going to look so cool. I can say that because mine looks really cool and you are copying... I have to admit I think your dining room light fixture is more snazzy than ours- a little more ritzy. Ours was super low too-lower than it is even now. We just shortened the chain about a foot.
Yep. Shorten the chain. You could paint the gold dark brown or something like that too and if you like the gold, you could even sand off some of the brown along the edges (I personally don't like distressed things, but many people do).
Can you use the curtains for pillows or something?
I spray painted my god chandeliers black and I really love them. I like the idea of dark brown too depending on how you're going to decorate the room. I really like the colors you choose.
i think you should paint the chandelier black! and i like the paint you chose for that room. it's similar to one of the colors in our place. i think the black on the light would look great with that color. keep it! i love the jewels. john can wear a helmet. (no offense, john)
Forget black or brown not very exciting. You have to paint it white and then use white as an accent color. The look is very classy and mod. Trust me it will look great! Love the always styling Aunt Kim
I like the black idea; I also would shorten it. I really like the wall color--did you paint it or was it there before? It also looks like there is a ton of desk space--that will be really nice!
